Chelsea could be set to be handed a transfer ban which would stretch over four transfer windows, two-years in total!
The Blues have heavily relied on splashing the cash in the transfer market since Roman Abramovich took the reins at Stamford Bridge. The amount of money we’ve spent has been a major contributor to our success, whichever way you want to spin it.
It’s for that reason that it’s such a concern to us that reports in Italy have suggested FIFA are considering slapping us with a four-window transfer ban and £45,000 fine. The cash is a drop in the ocean for us, but no transfer incomings could have serious consequences.
“The two-year transfer ban following a FIFA investigation into their signing of foreign under-18 players, including former striker Bertrand Traore.”
We have incredibly talented young players on our books, who would flourish in the event of a transfer ban. However, we would be very limited in areas like at full-back and upfront, where we don’t have any youngsters threatening to break into the starting eleven.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this situation as it develops…
