Alvaro Morata produced arguably his worst display for Chelsea as the Blues scored three goals in eight minutes to seal an unexpected comeback against Southampton.
The Spaniard offers no threat going forward for his team as he grew frustrated, especially in the first half with the team trailing.
Thankfully, Antonio Conte made the right decision in bringing Morata off for Oliver Giroud who sparked a shock turnaround as the Frenchman bagged a brace at St Mary’s.
The difference in both players’ displays was incredibly notable on Saturday. It wouldn’t surprise fans to see Giroud start ahead of the out of form Morata for the visit to Burnley on Thursday, especially those that vented their anger towards the former Real Madrid man on Twitter.
Going from lethal Diego Costa to a weak and consistently awful Álvaro Morata is the biggest downgrade in football history.

Look how good Chelsea look without Morata on the pitch.

Giroud doing more in 10 minutes than Morata has done in 10 games. It’s no exaggeration when it’s said Giroud is the best plan B in world football.

Alvaro Morata needs to realise that being petulant like Diego Costa is fine if you score goals like Diego Costa.

Giroud realized if Chelsea lose today they might go behind Arsenal in the table and was like ‘fuck that we are winning this’
