Chelsea fans turned on manager Antonio Conte following Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad – and understandably so.
There were no real expectations for us heading into this game. This Man City side is one of the best that the Premier League has ever seen, we are some distance behind them. However, the manner in which we surrendered without putting up any sort of a fight was utterly disgraceful.
Bernardo Silva gave the home-side the lead less than a minute into the second-half, but it took Chelsea until the final 15 minutes to wake up and look to put any sort of pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side.

Instead, we opted to sit off and invite pressure, which Man City were not in any hurry to provide. They kept possession and kept us at bay, ticking down the clock until the game cantered to a dull climax.
We now sit five points outside of the top four, and the Chelsea faithful are utterly fuming. Here’s how Chelsea fans, and the rest of the football world, took to Twitter to criticise Conte following what was a toothless performance:
No doubt in my mind that Conte is trying to get the sack – and he has been for some time. I wouldn’t be surprised now if Abramovich doesn’t give him his wish.

After the defeat to Watford, Conte spoke of his team playing with fear. Well, today he set his team up with fear, and coached with fear throughout.

Antonio Conte, your time is up. What a way to ruin your legacy in one season. Terrible team selection, horrible game management, €250 million+ spent in mediocre players, cowardly tactical decisions, shackling a world class player in Eden Hazard, and clueless with substitutions.

Look, if I was Conte, I wouldn’t care either anymore.
If I was the players, I wouldn’t care anymore playing with these tactics.
From the board down, it’s a catastrophe at the moment. We’ve become Arsenal.

Conte has lost it

Look at the clear frustrations & disgust on his face. Conte probably today pushed him off the edge & killed any chances of him signing that extension. pic.twitter.com/zGPZXN78ML

I’ve been with Conte most of the season and even after the Watford and Bournemouth defeats, but now it has become unacceptable. Especially for a club like Chelsea. Players are frustrated. His starting 11 and subs are off the mark.

Conte will get sacked tonight. I’m sure of it.

Conte had a week to prepare for this. City also just played a few days ago against Arsenal. Shambolic, cowardly performance.
— Thomas (@andoculture) 4 March 2018
Thought Conte was the type of character to fight, work and never give up. We did none of those things today. Disgrace. Utter disgrace.

I want Conte to be sacked in the most embarrassing way possible. Maybe a tannoy announcement in the 34th minute vs Crystal Palace as a group of bouncers remove him and his family from Stamford Bridge, with a momentary pause for Eden to kick him in the balls.

I think till now could be thrown away
Conte should be sack with immediate effect.
Or suppend him until the last of his contract, and instead one off our legends take in charge till the end.

I think he will be sacked after we lose (hopefully not, but it is so unlikely we win) against Barca.
Conte is managing to be sacked, and is destroying our team in the long term (Hazard and Courtois will never sign extensions).
