Chelsea have been handed a boost ahead of our EFL Cup clash with Liverpool on Wednesday night – and we’ve been given it by Jurgen Klopp himself.
Klopp has confirmed that Alisson Becker will be left out of the game, leaving deputy Simon Mignolet to start between the sticks.
Simon Mignolet will start LFC’s @Carabao_Cup tie with @ChelseaFC tomorrow night. https://t.co/arE1wiBnYu

Fine margins can often separate games of this kind, and Liverpool not having their superstar keeper in the sticks, and instead fielding the rather suspect Mignolet, will encourage Alvaro Morata in his efforts to break his duck.
Morata needs a goal, and coming up against Mignolet, especially with the Belgian’s track record at dealing with crosses, ought to give him the confidence he needs to find the back of the net.
It’s unclear who Maurizio Sarri will play in goal. Kepa Arrizabalaga kept his place against PAOK in the Europa League, but is it time to give the young Spaniard a rest? We shall see.
