The Chelsea squad reportedly made their feelings known on the changes Maurizio Sarri needs to make in a ‘crisis meeting’ after the loss to Man City.
Listen, we don’t want to have to write about the embarrassment at the Etihad anymore than you want to read about it, but it could prove to be a pivotal moment in our season and Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea career. We have to cover it!
Naturally, following such a heavy loss, Sarri is thought to have held a meeting with his players to discuss what went wrong. Our friends over at CaughtOffside believe that two changes were requested by the squad during said meeting.
First of all, N’Golo Kante, who is not known for being vocal nor problematic, is believed to have asked to play in his natural, deeper position. Now, this is contradictory to what he has said himself in the public, so we’ll take it with a pinch of salt.
The Chelsea squad are also thought to have advised Sarri to give Callum Hudson-Odoi more frequent game-time. If this is true, it’s testament to just how good a player he is. He deserves a chance to impress – the ball’s in Sarri’s court, so to speak.
