Chelsea suffered ANOTHER injury blow during their clash with Southampton this evening. Things just keep getting worse and worse for Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri was forced into granting Alvaro Morata an opportunity through the middle, with several of his attackers picking up injuries over the busy festive period.
Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi both picked up muscular injuries, while Olivier Giroud damaged his ankle during our win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The flurry of injuries forced Sarri into moving Hazard back out-wide, which he certainly would not have seen ideal with the Belgian excelling in the false 9 role.
Well, if that wasn’t enough to ensure this was a grim start to 2019 for Sarri, Willian left the field of play tonight with an injury of his own, piling the misery upon our manager.
Willian’s condition remains unclear. We eagerly await news on his condition. We really can’t afford to lose another first-team player to injury right now.
