FIFA have launched an investigation into Chelsea for breaching regulations regarding the signing of youth players for the third time in eight years, according to the Daily Mail.

As per the Daily Mail, FIFA have confirmed that they are looking into Chelsea’s actions while signing players from abroad under the age of 18. You may recall that Atletico Madrid are currently banned for breaching regulations on the signing of youngsters, we sincerely hope that the Blues do not suffer the same fate.

The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea’s case is not as serious as Atletico’s, nor their city rivals Real Madrid, who were also banned from making transfers for a transfer window. However, it is the third time in eight years that the Blues have been investigated by FIFA.

It is mentioned in the report that the situations surrounding the signings of both Gael Kakuta and Bertrand Traore prompted FIFA to investigate, and now they are doing so once again.

The Daily Mail quote a Chelsea spokesperson, who insists that the club are not guilty of any wrongdoing:

“Chelsea FC complies with all FIFA Statutes and Regulations when recruiting players.”
