Chelsea’s starting eleven to face Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup this afternoon has been confirmed – and Callum Hudson-Odoi starts!
Hudson-Odoi flanks Alvaro Morata, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the opposite wing. Both Pedro and Willian are carrying niggles and Maurizio Sarri has opted against risking them for this fixture.
Interestingly, Ethan Ampadu is given a run-out in the middle of the park today. Mateo Kovacic has a knock, while N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are both in dire need of a rest ahead of the Tottenham game.
Cesc Fabregas, in what appears to be his last ever appearance for Chelsea, wears the armband in the heart of the midfield, with Ross Barkley getting a third consecutive start in all competitions.
Andreas Christensen starts at the back, but there’s no place in the squad for Gary Cahill, who may well be hoping to avoid being cup-tied as he prepares to leave Chelsea for another English side.
