Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea take on Manchester City at Wembley later today in the Carabao Cup final. Here’s our injury report, with information provided by Physio Room.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Kepa is the one player in particular that Maurizio Sarri will be sweating on ahead of today’s game. He missed our clash with Malmo midweek after suffering a hamstring injury, with Willy Caballero deputising in his absence.

Caballero could feature once again today against his former side, with the latest information suggesting that Kepa will have to undergo a late fitness test before his availability can be fully determined.

Pedro suffered stomach cramps earlier in the week and was another who wasn’t available to face Malmo. We believe he has a fighting chance to face Man City today, though Maurizio Sarri could be forgiven for not taking a risk on his fitness for such a big game.

Sarri does have both Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi ready to step in if Pedro is too ill to play today. There’s no prizes for guessing which one of those the Chelsea fan base would like to see in the starting eleven.

Davide Zappacosta, Gary Cahill and Danny Drinkwater

Sarri also has three of his fringe players battling to be involved, at least from the bench, against City. Davide Zappacosta is the only one of the three who has a chance of making the matchday squad, even if they were all fit.

Zappacosta has been suffering from the flu, but is expected to be available for selection should Sarri wish to include him. Cahill and Drinkwater, though not bad players, are not to Sarri’s liking and will not be involved.

Maurizio Sarri has to put Kante as the holding midfielder. When Man city counter attack , Jorginho us too slow, therefore can’t manage to keep up, with the pace of Sterling, and Sane
