Chelsea may well be set to be victims of our own success. Our Premier League rivals are intent on us being punished for the rather dodgy manner in which we recruited Andreas Christensen.

We can have no complaints if this information turns out to be true. As the Telegraph report, we’re accused of paying Christensen’s father for a job that he never did. It’s implied that the club did this to ensure that Christensen would sign for us.

You can forgive club’s for bending the rules in order to secure the services of the best young players in the world. There’s no problem with it, unless you get caught. We’re now facing a transfer ban.

The Telegraph report that our rivals are keen to see us get punished for our crimes. One club has reportedly asked the Premier League to fully investigate whether there was any wrongdoing on our part. Grasses…

With Chelsea being the team to beat in the Premier League since Fergie retired, any opportunity for our top four counterparts to get one over on us will be exploited. We should’ve expected this.
