Chelsea are yet to open contract talks with Eden Hazard, who has less than two-years remaining on his deal, according to Kristof Terreur.
Hazard’s future has been the talk of the town over the past few weeks. That’s much of his own doing, the Belgian has openly flirted with a move to Real Madrid.
Earlier this month, Hazard was quoted by the Guardian revealing that he has Los Blancos on his mind, thus casting doubt over his future as a Chelsea player:
“Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie today. It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club. We will see.”
Hazard’s performance level so far this campaign has been quite incredible. He has distracted us from the speculation surrounding his future by firing us to victory on the field of play.

He does not have the look nor the body language of an unhappy player, quite the opposite. We still retain hope that he will sign a new Chelsea contract, but we’ll have to offer him one first.
Reliable Belgian journalist Kristoff Terreur posted on Twitter early on Thursday claiming that Chelsea are yet to open contract talks with Hazard.
Forget the guessing. Chelsea yet have to open the (formal) contract negotiations with Eden Hazard, but it’s a priority of the club in the upcoming weeks. #cfc pic.twitter.com/AF3xsV9Bo4

Though Terreur believes that convincing Hazard to commit his future is high on our list of priorities, we ought to get a move on. We have to make our pitch to Hazard before Real Madrid get a chance.
