Chelsea champions
Chelsea won the Premier League title last season without playing in the Champions League.

Chelsea’s fixture list for the 2017/18 Premier League campaign have been announced.

As reported by the club’s website, the champions will begin their title defence at Stamford Bridge against Burnley. As you may remember, the last time we began our season with a clash with the Clarets was in the 2014/15 season, where we defeated them 3-1 at Turf Moor under Jose Mourinho’s stewardship. We went on to lift the title.

The Chelsea website provides the full list of fixtures, and our second game is one to look forward to. The Blues travel to Wembley to face Tottenham, in what may well be, on paper, the toughest game we will play all season. It’ll be good to get it out of the way early, and who knows, we may well be able to make a real statement of our intentions for the season.

As the Chelsea website note, we face Manchester United and Manchester City away from home in consecutive game weeks, on February 24th and March 3rd respectively. That’s something to look forward to.

We end the season with a trip to newly promoted Newcastle, which is often a bogey fixture for us. Who knows, we could be crowned champions once again on Tyneside.
