Chelsea have reportedly drawn-up a three-man shortlist of Maurizio Sarri alternatives, in case the club are unable to land the departing Napoli manager this summer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Sarri is set to meet with Zenit St. Petersburg, who are extremely interested in appointing him this summer. Zenit have been recently renown for housing high-profile managers on high salaries, which is why Luciano Spalletti, Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Mancini have all been employed at the Krestovsky Stadium over the past four-years.
Di Marzio believes Chelsea will meet with Sarri’s representatives in London, but the man himself will not be present. That is a heavy suggestion that he’s more interested in the Zenit job, or at least that the Russian side have been more comital to Sarri, with Chelsea still deliberating over whether or not to sack Antonio Conte.
Either way, Chelsea have three other managerial targets if we are unable to secure Sarri’s services, as per Di Marzio. The managers mentioned are Barcelona treble-winner Luis Enrique, former Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc and Tottenham over-achiever Mauricio Pochettino.
Which of these would you like to see in charge of Chelsea next season, Blues? Or do you still want Conte to stay? Let us know in the comments.
