Chelsea may leave Eden Hazard at home for their upcoming trip to face BATE in the Europa League on Thursday, according to Standard Sport.

Hazard has only just returned to action having suffered a back injury during our 2-2 draw with Manchester United in October.

The Belgian was introduced as a substitute against Crystal Palace at the weekend, providing the assist for Alvaro Morata’s goal which separated the sides, who were previously level 1-1.

We’re delighted to have Hazard back available for selection, but it would be unwise to rush him too far, too fast. Maurizio Sarri appears keen to swerve naive decisions, and could be set to wrap Hazard up in cotton wool.

With Chelsea facing a 2,300 mile round trip to Belarus, Sarri could be set to make the decision to leave Hazard in West London, according to Simon Johnson of Standard Sport.

Ensuring Hazard does not fall victim to fatigue ought to be high on our list of priorities, especially so soon after he has returned from injury.

We can get these three points without Eden. Let’s give him the night off!
