Maurizio Sarri has insinuated that Eden Hazard is not in good enough shape to 90 minutes against Everton on Sunday.
Hazard made his return during our 3-1 win over Crystal Palace. He was then handed a start against BATE in Belarus midweek.
His return to action has been gradual and carefully constructed, and it doesn’t look as though that’s going to change towards the end of his recovery.
With Chelsea hosting Everton at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, Blues fans will no doubt be keen to discover whether Hazard will be fit to start once again.
Judging by Sarri’s comments in his pre-match press conference – he will. However, it’s unclear whether he will be able to play the full 90.
He’s quoted by Daily Mail saying:
“He’s doing very well with his back, but now of course he needs to improve the physical performance.”
“He interrupted the activity for 10, 12 days. So it’s important to have minutes on the pitch in a gradual way.”
We need Hazard to get fit and firing again if we want to have any chance of keeping up with Manchester City at the top of the table. His return is welcomed, but a few goals would be, too…
