Huge news: Reports suggest Chelsea star is on verge of signing £300K-a-week contract

  • N’Golo Kante on the verge of signing contract extension.
  • Kante is thought to be set to bank around £300K-a-week.
  • Is that too much? Let us know what you think @TalkChelsea.

We have some incredible news to bring you courtesy of the Telegraph‘s Matt Law – N’Golo Kante is close to extending his contract with Chelsea.

Kante’s story is a rather incredible one. The Frenchman only made his top division debut with Caen four-years ago. After signing for Leicester City, he was influential in the Foxes’ 5000/1 Premier League title triumph.

He earned himself a move to the greatest club in the world, Chelsea, where he became the first player ever to win back-to-back Premier League titles with different clubs. Quite the feat!

Kante’s journey didn’t end there. He’s become a mainstay in the France national team, for whom he won the World Cup in the summer. We feared he would use that as a springboard to sign for the PSG’s or Real Madrid’s of this world – but it appears not.

The Telegraph report that Kante is on the verge of putting pen-to-paper on a new contract worth somewhere in the region of £300K-a-week. That would effectively ensure he will be a Chelsea player throughout his prime years.

This is fantastic news from a Chelsea standpoint. Kante has been consistently world-class since signing for us. Without him, we fear where we’d be. Our only concern is, if we’re giving Kante £300K-a-week – how much are we going to need to give Eden Hazard?
