N’Golo Kante has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea, keeping him with the Blues until at least 2023.
The Frenchman has scarcely put a foot wrong since becoming a Chelsea player back in the summer of 2016. His Leicester City performance level will have been enough for him to be a mainstay in our side, but he’s managed to improve on it, even when we thought it impossible.
Two-years on, Kante now has another Premier League winners’ medal under his belt, as well as being a world Champion with France. His meteoric rise to the top of football has been quite the spectacle, and thankfully, Chelsea have been the ones to benefit from it the most.
Kante has now extended his contract with Chelsea by five-years, which is testament to his commitment to the cause at Stamford Bridge. He’s quoted by the club’s official website speaking of his delight at his new deal:
“I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.”
This is exactly the news Chelsea fans will have been hoping to wake up to on a Friday morning. Now Kante’s ticked off the list, let’s get Eden Hazard to follow suit!
