Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has been praised by Blues manager Antonio Conte after scoring two goals to earn a comeback win against Watford, the Daily Star reports.
Batshuayi who had been under the spotlight after his woeful performance against Crystal Palace last Saturday. Many people were proved wrong and his performance yesterday showed that he can still make an impact at the club.
Conte elected to start with Alvaro Morata but at 2-1 down, the Belgian striker came on and stepped up to the plate. Conte brought Batshuayi on just past the hour mark but despite his brace, the Italian believes he must keep this level of consistency, as the Daily Star reports.
The manager is quoted by the Daily Star saying:
“Today the impact was incredible and important, it must continue in this way – work, work, work.”
In just his second season at the club, Batshuayi needs more time if we want to see the best of him at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old will likely start against Everton midweek in the FA Cup with the hope he can string some good performances together.
