Tiemoue Bakayoko’s debut season as a Chelsea player has not been a success by any means, but that doesn’t appear to have affected his stock at Stamford Bridge.

The then Premier League champions drafted in Bakayoko in hope of finding a like-for-like replacement for Nemanja Matic, who subsequently joined Manchester United.

However, Bakayoko has not been able to produce his best performance level in a Chelsea shirt and fell out of favour with manager Antonio Conte.

Despite that, it doesn’t look to have done him any harm. According to sport1, Chelsea will demand £56M for the Frenchman in the summer, which is £13M more than we paid for him last summer.

Borussia Dortmund are thought to be interested in signing Bakayoko. It seems unlikely that any side would be willing to pay such an inflated figure for a player who has been underperforming for the past twelve months.
