On a day where Chelsea officially announced the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the club’s new head coach, Blues fans look ahead at what could be in store as life under the German begins.
Tuesday evening saw the inevitable appointment of former PSG and Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel as the new Chelsea boss and supporters from across the globe took to Twitter to voice their expectations of the German. A forlorn yet optimistic feeling flooded Chelsea Twitter as fans bid farewell to a legend – however, expectations for the future seem to be high.
The unanimous feeling surrounding supporters today involved desires for a top-four finish. Many Chelsea fans are expecting the German to steady the ship before mounting an assault on the Champions League positions.
With the West London outfit currently sitting tenth in the table, Tuchel guiding Chelsea to a Champions League spot would be some achievement. Tuchel is regarded as a student of the game – but could his tactical knowledge help the Blues surge up the Premier League table?
Top four isn’t the only thing on Chelsea fans’ wish-lists. Hundreds of supporters tweeted how they are hopeful of Tuchel being the man to guide Chelsea to a trophy this season. With the team still alive in three competitions, lots of the Chelsea faithful are calling for FA Cup success with some even hopeful of European glory.
Although there is an overwhelming feeling of upset regarding the sacking of the clubs all-time leading goal-scorer, supporters are optimistic about the future under Thomas Tuchel.
