Academy graduate Fikayo Tomori swapped West London for Milan this month having completed a loan move to the Serie A giants.
In his first start in a 2-1 away victory against Bologna, Tomori showed exactly why Paulo Maldini has spoken so highly of the young defender.
Starting his first game in AC Milan’s back four, Tomori put on a stellar performance as the Italians secured three points away from home. The Englishman showed composure at the back – controlling the pace of the game with slick short passes and some pin-point long balls. The Chelsea loanee also displayed real prowess at the back with an excellent aerial display – winning four out of five aerial duels.
His passing and presence weren’t the only stand-out feature of his game as Tomori repeatedly stepped up to cut out passes and make important tackles. In what was a tight fixture, Fikayo dug in to help his team when it mattered most – making four clearances throughout the game.
An excellent full debut for the Chelsea youngster but with a buy option embedded in his contract, will Blues fans get to see this sort of performance at the bridge again?
Chelsea will only value their rare gem when it’s lost. Ask me about Sallah,De-Bryne &co same story like above.
