Eden Hazard

The rumours have been around for years, but things have begun to crystalise over the last two years.

Eden Hazard will leave for Real Madrid this summer, with all that is left to argue over now being how much Chelsea get for him.

That will be a bitter blow for Blues fans, who at least have had enough time to prepare themselves for this moment. The fact that Eden never forced a move, and has always acted honestly over his desire to play for Zinedine Zidane, as well as the years of good service he’s given us, mean no fans will really be holding his decision against him.

The fact that the deal could well be concluded – at least in principle – within the next few days means that we could know for sure that the Belgian is off to Spain before the end of the season.

That will put something of a dark cloud over the final games of this precarious period, but it will also give Hazard some superb motivation to sign off his career at the Bridge with some top tier showings.

After all, what better way to make up for his departure than with some top level showings that fire us into the Champions League again?

it would be the perfect way for him to sign off in style, and leave us not only with great memories, but also a big wedge of money and the chance to compete with the best teams in Europe again.
