How Chelsea can easily make £150 million to add to transfer budget this summer

Whilst everything remains entirely up in the air in the current football season, and with it still being unknown if it can still be completed at all, it has been revealed that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and Director Marina Granovskaia are continuing to work on transfer business.

A lot of business will be relating to which players could be arriving at Stamford Bridge once the transfer window reopens, as well as player departures.

Chelsea will already have a pretty decent budget for in-comings after being banned from signing players, and also the sale of Eden Hazard.

But they can easily add to said budget, pretty much doubling it, by selling the following players which I believe to be quite likely….

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian international has probably been the most disappointing player in terms of performances since Lampard took over. He showed faith in Batshuayi by selecting him ahead of Olivier Giroud, but it is safe to say that faith was far from repaid.

He is valued at just over £15 million on Transfermarkt, Chelsea would probably push for over £20 million.

Ross Barkley

Barkley has been largely inconsistent throughout his short Chelsea career so far. He is a frustrating player, because he will be one of the best on the pitch one game, then easily the worst the next. But despite his better form before the season paused, I think in a business sense, it would be wise to cash in now.

Chelsea paid just £15 million for Ross, he is now valued at £20 million on TM, but he should fetch £30 – £40 million realistically.

The Italian international is another inconsistent player who Lampard cannot really take risks with anymore. He has interest back in Italy, so it would be wise to sell.

Emerson is valued at £22 million by TM, but again Chelsea could easily push for over £30 million.

Marcos Alonso

Alonso will be 30-years old come December, so now would be a good time to sell him. Despite being a good attacking threat, the defensive side of his game and lack of pace has always let him down.

He will fetch £18 million according to TM, this seems a realistic figure to me.

Antonio Rudiger

I am aware of reports that Chelsea are in talks with Rudiger over a contract extension. However, this is who I believe they should sell, so that is why the German international makes this list.

If the talks over a new deal are true, then I am shocked. Despite him being a solid defender, I think he has been pretty poor since returning from injury, which he is also prone to.

He is the most sell-able out of all four centre backs, so to me if Chelsea are signing a new one as they are largely rumoured to be doing, it has to be Rudiger that goes.

He is valued at £36 million on TM, Chelsea could easily push for £45 million, that would be a great chunk of cash to add towards in-comings.

That is a fairly realistic value of around £150 million that Chelsea could bring in selling these five players. With the quality youth players coming in, and signing a few top class players in essential positions, this would be a wise overhaul.
