Gittens in action for Chelsea

Jamie Gittens needed confidence goal for U21s but needs more than that – opinion

The international break is bland as hell but it can often throw up some moments like this one that will be hugely positive.

Jamie Gittens has had a slow start to life in a Chelsea shirt so far and has struggled to make any sort of impact. Not every player will come in and bang at a new player, some need more time to settle, and we will all be hoping that Gittens will settle in time and prove his worth.

A goal on international duty will certainly help his confidence though, and that is what he has managed to do this international break.

Gittens scored for England U21s with a typical shift inside and unleash a shot which will only help him move forward.

England won this game 4-0 and Josh Acheampong also started this game which will be a boost for Enzo Maresca and Chelsea, showing that he had shaken off his knock that he picked up against Liverpool.

Good news all round here and let’s hope that Gittens can get some needed confidence and belief off the back of scoring a goal. For the rest of the game he wasn’t great, so he still does need to do more and still needs time. But this will certainly help everything.
