Chelsea have two friendly games in a week in Ireland before heading off to Japan to continue their preseason tour.
At this early stage of preseason we can expect to see all manner of changes and tweaks during the games and in the starting lineups for each of them.
There are some returning loanees who we’ve seen play for the club before, which isn’t that exciting. But there are also a few really young players who some people are really keen to see.
Conor Gallagher is someone who hasn’t been talked about a lot, but as the academy player of the year there’s a good chance he will get a few minutes with the big boys.
Nobody is expecting him to feature in the first time this year – in fact he may not even be loaned out and just look to continue succeeding at youth level. But a few minutes on the pitch, even in a July friendly, would be a fair reward for his achievements last year.
