The general consensus this afternoon appears to be that it is the three American-led parties attempting to buy Chelsea FC who are leading the race, and all bar one of them, this would be absolutely disastrous and simply cannot happen.
I’m not even talking about the fact that both The Ricketts family and Woody Johnson could attempt to run Chelsea like The Glazers and Manchester United, or Liverpool, where it’s all about profit and the ‘franchise’. I was prepared to try and look for positives away from that and hope that neither would operate this way and both would put our club’s best interests at heart, more hope than anything. But I was prepared to hope.
However, what I have read this afternoon has even taken away that slight bit of hope I was prepared to have, because quite simply, I do not want either of them near our football club, purely for integrity reasons.
This tweet from 2019, should instantly put to bed any talk of The Ricketts family owning Chelsea, they’re a disgrace. They cannot come anywhere near us and there is no way this will be passed by the Government.

And it doesn’t look much better for Johnson either, with some historic claims here…
Chelsea simply cannot afford to put a new owner in with history and political links like these two, it is not feasible and it is morally wrong. I’d take Todd Boehly, because as much as I can see at least he isn’t pulling off any of the nonsense that the above two are pulling at the very least. But these two, no way they can be our owners and we must voice this everywhere right now.
Get it right, Chelsea, Raine Group, and UK Government, please!
