Chelsea defeated Burnley 4-0 at Turf Moor to keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
Chelsea took the lead through Alvaro Morata. Ross Barkley played a perfectly weighted pass through to the Spaniard, who made no mistake with the finish. Morata has now scored three goals in his last four appearances for the Blues. He’s in great form!
In the 57th minute of the game, Barkley got on the scoresheet himself. The England international drove at the Burnley back-line before firing towards goal with his left-foot. His shot was beyond Joe Hart, who could only watch it nestle in his bottom corner.
Chelsea were not done there, however. Five minutes later, Willian added a third. The Brazilian cut-in from the left-hand-side and bent the ball beyond Hart, into the same corner that teammate Barkley had found soon before.
As we entered injury time and the game begun to draw to a close, Ruben Loftus-Cheek added the cherry on top of what has been a superb week for himself to make it four for Chelsea. He fired home at the back post to round off the victory.
Maurizio Sarri’s men started slowly at Turf Moor, but turned on the style and it turned into an incredibly convincing victory. Sarri has now become the second Chelsea manager ever to avoid defeat in his first ten Premier League games. What a start.
