Antonio Ruidger Goal Celebration

Chelsea defeated Swansea City at Stamford Bridge to keep the pressure on league leaders Manchester City.

The deficit between ourselves and champions-elect City remains at 11 points, but all we can do is ensure that it does not get any bigger and hope that they start to drop points.

Our clash with the Swans on Wednesday evening was a forgettable one. There were very few talking points, barring Antonio Conte’s dismissal in the first-half. The Chelsea boss was forced to watch the majority of the game from the stands.

His team were noticeably fatigued and were nowhere near their best, but all it took was a single goal to snatch all three points from this one.

N’Golo Kante struck from distance and his shot was deflected towards Antonio Rudiger. The German headed home into the back of the net to give Chelsea the lead after 54 minutes, and that proved to be enough to seal the victory.

Here’s our player ratings:

Courtois 6; Rudiger 8, Christensen 7, Cahill 6; Zappacosta 5, Kante 7, Fabregas 4, Alonso 4; Willian 3, Pedro 4, Morata 5. (SUBS: Moses 1, Drinkwater 3, Hazard 5)
