Chelsea defeated PAOK 4-0 at Stamford Bridge to continue their perfect start to their Europa League campaign.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with an excellent first-time finish from the right-hand-side. After some brilliant work from Pedro, the Spaniard layed it off to Giroud, who curled the ball into the bottom corner expertly.
It didn’t take long for Giroud to add his second goal. Cesc Fabregas played a beautifully weighted pass over the PAOK defence. Giroud watched the ball the whole way and directed the ball into the goal. His technique was spot on, as it often is.
Midway through the second-half, Callum Hudson-Odoi got his fairytale goal. The Englishman finally got given a start tonight and has made the most of it. His superb finish beat the keeper at the near post. Get in, Callum!
Alvaro Morata, on as a substitute, made his mark soon after entering the action. Hudson-Odoi delivered a brilliant cross into the penalty area, with Morata heading home equally as well. That’ll do wonders for his confidence.
Chelsea successfully bounced back from their loss to Tottenham at the weekend, and our 100% record in the Europa League remains intact. We’d say that’s a good day at the office.
