Alvaro Morata is rubbing shoulders with some of the best strikers in the world, and Chelsea are reaping the rewards.
The Spaniard arrived at Stamford Bridge during the summer with a proven track record of succeeding at top clubs, having enjoyed two stints at Real Madrid and another at Juventus. However, he was yet to show that he was able to carry the goal-scoring burden on his own.
It is very much early days in his Chelsea career, but Morata is going a long way to silencing his doubters. After seven goals in his opening eight appearances in a Chelsea shirt, his minutes-per-goal ratio has him right up there with the very best in the world.

As shown on the above graphic, Lionel Messi has the best minutes-per-goal ratio in Europe’s top five leagues so far this campaign. Following the Argentine is Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane, with Morata placed in a commendable fourth place, having found the back of the net once every 82.5 minutes in the Premier League this term.
If he continues scoring at his current rate, he will not only break the record for the most goals in a single Premier League season, which has stood since 1995, but he will also give us a great chance of retaining our crown.
