It appears as though Asmir Begovic’s time as a Chelsea player is coming to an end.
According to Sky Sports, the Premier League champions have accepted a £10million bid for Begovic from Premier League counterparts AFC Bournemouth.
Sky Sports report that Begovic’s move to the Vitality Stadium is still subject to the agreement of personal terms and the completion of a medical, but Chelsea have given him permission to make the move.
Begovic joined Chelsea in the summer of 2015, replacing Blues legend Petr Cech in Thibaut Courtois’ shadow. He was called upon almost immediately to deputise for the Belgian, who suffered a serious knee injury that ruled him out for several months.
However, Courtois has managed to keep himself fit this term, and it’s seen Begovic be starved of opportunities, barring cup competitions. Ultimately, he is too good to be sat on the bench, and if Sky Sports are to be believed, Eddie Howe is getting himself a fantastic goalkeeper.
