Chelsea are confident that deals to sign Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko are close to completion, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Standard believe that Antonio Conte has asked that the Chelsea board draft six new additions into his title-winning squad, and it looks as though Lukaku and Bakayoko will be two of them.
It is also reported by the Standard that former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero has agreed terms with Chelsea, and his move to Stamford Bridge could be announced on July 1st.
Chelsea will not be done there, however. The Standard report that Conte has requested a new attacking midfielder and the situation of want-away Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez is being monitored.
It does not look as though the Chelsea board are going to make the same mistakes of the 2015/16 campaign. If the Standard’s report is accurate, we will reinforce, and be ready to challenge on all fronts next term.
