Barcelona have stepped up their interest in Willian according to The Times. The report claims that The Blues are ready to sell the winger if Barcelona make the right bid.
As per the report, the Catalan side are interested in signing him as an alternative to Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. It also suggests that Chelsea rejected an approach from Manchester United earlier this summer.
Barcelona have just completed the signing of Ousmane Dembele but are still actively pursuing other targets. The fee paid by Barcelona to sign the Borussia Dortmund man is reported to be £135.5 million by BBC.
Willian was in & out on the Chelsea squad last summer as Antonio Conte preferred to play Pedro alongside Eden Hazard behind Diego Costa. However, the Brazilian is an important part of the squad and should not be sold.
He’s the ideal super-sub for Chelsea on the wings and can step up and replace Pedro or Hazard when needed.
