Bournemouth are confident of signing Chelsea defender Nathan Ake on a permanent basis, according to the Mirror.
Ake spent the first-half of the 2016/17 campaign on loan with the Cherries, and fast established himself as one of the most dependable centre-backs in the Premier League.
As per the Mirror, Eddie Howe attempted to sign the Dutchman on a permanent basis in January, but Chelsea blocked the move and Antonio Conte opted to keep him around as part of his squad.
It looks as though Howe may now finally get his man. The Mirror believe that it is unlikely that Chelsea will allow Ake to leave before securing defensive reinforcements of their own, with Virgil Van Dijk and Leonardo Bonucci both said to be on Conte’s transfer wish-list.
However, the Mirror report that Chelsea and Bournemouth are in talks over the possibility of Ake returning to the vitality, and the latter are said to be growing ever confident that a £20M deal can be sealed this summer.
