AS Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger is on his way to Stamford Bridge, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio reports that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Roma for the transfer of Rudiger, and will part with a fee in the region of £33M in order to seal the deal.
As per Di Marzio, Rudiger will earn £4M-a-year at Stamford Bridge, which works out at roughly £77K-a-week. In modern football, that is not a great deal.
The transfer may well be concluded next week, as Di Marzio believes that Rudiger will undergo a medical with Chelsea on Monday, once he has finished his international duties at the Confederations Cup.
Following the departure of Nathan Ake on Friday morning, it look as though Chelsea have acted fast in order to secure his replacement. If Di Marzio’s report is accurate, as they often are, it looks as though Rudiger is about to become a Chelsea player.
