Chelsea are not alone in the race to sign Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Express.
As per the Express, the Premier League champions are set to make their move to sign the England international in the next 48 hours. The tabloid note that he has just one-year remaining on his contract with the Gunners and is yet to pen an extension to that deal.
The Express believe that Chelsea turning their interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain into a concrete proposal is likely to force Man City’s hand, and Pep Guardiola’s side will likely challenge the Blues in the race to sign him.
It is reported that it is now a straight fight between Chelsea and Man City to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain, who can play on the wing, at central-midfield, or as a wing-back.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we approach the tail end of the summer transfer window.
