Chelsea and Valencia have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over the loan of Michy Batshuayi.
France Football report that after the clubs found an agreement over the finances of the loan, Batshuayi is now just ‘a step’ from becoming a Valencia player for the 2018/19 campaign.
This is bizarre, and we’d be incredibly annoyed if this information was correct. Batshuayi is arguably the best striker we have on our books, he proved it while out on-loan with Borussia Dortmund.
Alvaro Morata has shown himself unable to lead the line at Stamford Bridge. Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham are also not sufficient options in reserve for us to be competitive this season.
As with anything, we will wait for a more reliable source to report the news, but France Football have put their neck on the line in claiming it’s a done deal.
We will bring you further updates on this situation as they come…
