Chelsea have been dealt a major blow in our reported pursuit of OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
Seri has been continuously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the past weeks. He appears to have been earmarked as a potential target by the club, rather than incoming manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Ivorian was close to joining Barcelona last summer. The move never went through, though, with his agent citing an ego problem between the the two clubs.
He could finally be on the move this summer. Chelsea, West Ham United and Napoli have been linked with a move to sign him, but just one of those clubs appear to have any hope of signing him – and it’s not us!
According to GFFN, Seri wants to play in the Champions League next season ‘at all costs’. For obvious reasons, that rules us out of the running.
We’ll have to look for a less ambitious midfielder.
