Chelsea are closing in on the signing of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to the Telegraph.
The Telegraph report that Antonio Conte placed Bakayoko top of his transfer wish-list some time ago, but the Premier League champions have taken major steps towards securing his services in the last few days.
The Telegraph believe that Chelsea are close to sealing a £35million deal which would see Bakayoko move to Stamford Bridge, less than AS Monaco’s initial valuation of £43million. The Telegraph believe that Bakayoko is now prepared to fly to West London in order to take a medical and complete his move to Chelsea.
Bakayoko’s arrival could leave the futures of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in doubt, with N’Golo Kante likely to be a cornerstone in Conte’s midfield once more. The Telegraph report that Matic is being courted by Juventus and Manchester United, whereas Fabregas has no intention of leaving the club this summer.
