Chelsea have reportedly lined up AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as a potential replacement for Thibaut Courtois.

Question marks surrounding Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge refuse to go away. He has just one-year to run on his contract with Chelsea, with Real Madrid continually being linked with a summer move to sign him.

With Courtois’ family based in Madrid, you have to think that he’d be open to the idea of moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Chelsea will be aware of this, and appear to be preparing for his departure.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea made a €60M offer for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, but the Serie A side snubbed the big-money bid. As per the report, we could instead put towards AC Milan prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma’s agent is thought to be ‘desperate’ to move his client away from the San Siro this summer. Only time will tell if he’d be interested in a move to West London. On paper, though, he’d be the ideal long-term replacement for Courtois.
