Gary Cahill is reportedly on the verge of leaving Chelsea, but he won’t be straying far from SW6 this January.
Cahill’s contract with Chelsea comes to an end in the summer of 2019, and there doesn’t appear to be any willingness from either party to extend it.
Though he has been an influential figure in our recent successes, he is not the type of defender that Maurizio Sarri likes to use, thus he has been frozen out this term.
A January exit beckons, but by the look of things, Cahill won’t be leaving West London.
According to Love Sport Radio, Fulham are on the verge of securing Cahill’s services on-loan until the end of the season.
Arsenal are also thought to be interested, but Fulham are in pole position and can offer Cahill the guarantee of a starting spot.
If the end is nigh for Gazza, we thank him for his exemplary service and wish him well in all his future endeavours.
