Chelsea have reportedly identified Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as a potential summer target.
Martial joined United from AS Monaco with high expectations. The Frenchman wasted no time showcasing his star quality, but has struggled for regular game-time since Jose Mourinho took charge at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has made a habit in recent years of shunning young and talented players in favour of those physically superior. Martial could be set to become another Kevin De Bruyne or Mohamed Salah in departing and succeeding elsewhere.
According to the Telegraph, he could be provided an opportunity to prove Mourinho wrong at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are thought to be one of several clubs monitoring his situation as it develops in Manchester.
Juventus are thought to be prepared to pay as much as £44M to land Martial. That certainly seems a price worth paying – we ought to be all over it. Let’s see what happens.
