Maurizio Sarri will reportedly be handed £200M to spend to reinforce his squad in the January window.
It’s that time of the year when the ‘war-chest’ and ‘mega-money transfer splurge’ reports begin to circulate. You’ve gotta’ love it.
Chelsea have not escaped ahead of the winter window, with the Express claiming the Blues could spend up to £200M on four players.
They are, per the report, Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj, Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, long-term target Alex Sandro and former Blue Nathan Ake.
This report reeks of click-baiting nonsense, if we’re honest. Even with a potential transfer ban hanging over our head, there’d be no reason to unearth our defence halfway through the season.
Perhaps Pulisic is a genuine target. We could certainly do with signing a new winger. But as for the rest of them, don’t get your hopes up.
As January approaches and the familiar faces begin to pop up with information, the Matt Law’s and Simon Johnson’s, then we can start thinking about who we’ll actually be targeting this January.
