Silly season is well and truly underway.
Chelsea have joined the race to sign Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports believe that the Premier League champions will face competition from Premier League counterparts Manchester City and Liverpool in the race to sign the England international – but Antonio Conte appears keen to draft him into his squad this summer.
At the tail end of last season, Oxlade-Chamberlain played as a right-wing-back, as Arsene Wenger experimented with a 3-4-3 system. Conte may well be interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain to play in that position, as Victor Moses remains our only naturally suited option in that position.
Alternatively, he could be signed to provide competition for Pedro and Willian, although there does not appear to be any dire need for reinforcements in that position.
It seems unlikely that Arsenal would be willing to sell us anyone, let alone an important first-team player. However, if Sky Sports are to be believed, Chelsea are showing interest.
