Chelsea are reportedly leading Arsenal in the race to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
Seri appeared on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player last season. The move never materialised, with the player’s agent citing an ego problem between the two clubs as the reason behind the deal’s collapse.
One-year on, Seri still remains keen to leave the Ligue 1 outfit. Chelsea, who could do with a midfielder to compliment N’Golo Kante, look to be the frontrunners to secure his signature.
According to RTL, Chelsea are not allowing our current managerial predicament to affect our transfer plans. We’re thought to be pushing ahead with a deal to sign Seri, ahead of Premier League counterparts Arsenal.
With Seri’s agent previously insinuating that he is attracting interest from the Premier League, this looks like a transfer that could genuinely happen this summer. Stay tuned for further updates on this situation as it develops.
