Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic could be set for a move back to the big-time… with Barcelona.
Ivanovic is one of the greatest defenders in Chelsea’s history. He scored two of the most memorable goals we’ve seen in our lifetime, against Benfica in Amsterdam and Napoli at the Bridge.
He polarised opinion among the Chelsea faithful towards the end of his time with the Blues, but few would deny his influence across one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
Ivanovic is now 34-years-old and playing for Zenit Saint Petersburg, but his stock in the football world does not appear to have depreciated with time.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering signing Ivanovic following injuries to Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti.
How likely it is that the move materialises remains to be seen, but we’d love to see Branna get given one last victory tour before the curtain closes on his career.
