The Express have had a punt at predicting how Chelsea could lineup beyond the January window. Though, we don’t think it likely that their predictions will prove accurate.
Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions and are right in the mix for the Premier League title, despite drawing with Everton at Stamford Bridge in the match-day prior to the international break.
However, Maurizio Sarri’s squad isn’t perfect, with the January transfer window providing an opportunity for the Italian to iron out the creases within his ranks.
The Express believe that two players we’ll be after in January are Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic and Barcelona’s Denis Suarez, with our starting eleven looking something like this following their arrivals.
Both players have been linked with Chelsea, though Pulisic is the only logical target out of the two. We have Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all competing for the third midfield spot already – why would we sign Denis Suarez?
The Pulisic signing would be difficult to pull off in January, but if talk of an incoming transfer ban is true, don’t be surprised if the club’s hierarchy are scared into a transfer splurge. We shall see…
