The Daily Star are running an exclusive transfer report which claims that Chelsea are interested in signing Everton forward Richarlison.
Richarlison was linked with Chelsea prior to his move to Watford in 2017. We were thought to be attempting to strike a deal with Fluminense to sign him, but missed out to our London counterparts in the race to secure his services.
The Brazilian impressed during his debut season in the Premier League, but consistency was hard to find. His failure to produce his best performance level week after week didn’t deter Everton and former boss Marco Silva from splashing the cash to sign him.
Everton paid a fee in the region of £40M to sign Richarlison, a fee which has been justified by the 21-year-old scoring 10 Premier League goals in 22 appearances this term. His improvement in a struggling side has seen him linked with ANOTHER transfer.
The Daily Star believe that Chelsea are back in to sign Richarlison, but Everton will demand as much as £80M in exchange for him. AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also linked, but he wouldn’t have to unearth his life in order to move to West London.
Chelsea have already recruited Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. Whether we go back into the market for a winger will likely depend on whether Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi leave this summer. If either, or both, do, Richarlison is a plausible target.
