Chelsea appear to already be preparing for the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, with former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho being mentioned as an option.
Nobody wants to accept the reality that Eden Hazard wants to sign for Real Madrid, but that’s just how it is. Irrespective of whether he stays, he’ll go down as a legend at this football club, but something tells us that this summer will be the one that he goes.
Hazard’s potential departure would not be as disastrous as many Chelsea fans like to make out, assuming that he is replaced by a player of similar quality. Philippe Coutinho, though his move to Barcelona hasn’t worked out, is certainly a viable option for us.
The Independent believe that he is high up on Chelsea’s shopping list if Hazard does leave. Barcelona are thought to be braced for interest from the Premier League, but at this point have no interest in allowing to leave. They spent a potential £142M on him, after all.
Coutinho is Premier League proven and is entering the prime years of his career. He’s the kind of player we should be after if Hazard does leave. There’s other options out there, though, and we expect us to be linked to them in the coming months.
