Chelsea reportedly made an offer to sign Bayern Munich veteran Rafinha in the summer transfer window, and the Brazilian now appears to be discontent with life at the Allianz Arena.

That is according to SportBild reporter Christian Falk. He claims that Rafinha has given Bayern an ultimatum, either give him more playing time, or he will seek a new challenge away from the Bundesliga heavyweights.

Falk notes that Chelsea were in the running to sign Rafinha in the summer, but that would presumably been before the acquisition of Italy international Davide Zappacosta, so it remains to be seen whether we would still be interested in securing his services if he emerged on the transfer market.

After the departures of ‘The Old Guard’, the likes of Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Branislav Ivanovic, in recent years, we could certainly do with a player like Rafinha’s experience. This is one to keep an eye on.
